The final battle in New York City in The Avengers saw Bruce Banner demonstrating a modicum of control over the Hulk for this first time. As a gigantic Chitauri Leviathan approached, Banner announced that he was "always angry" while walking towards it. He transformed into the Hulk and proceeded to kill it with a single punch.
