Take out the special effects and Ghostbusters would still be a masterpiece. The film has a real, good hearted, old-fashioned quality to it. In places it has the knockabout comedy of a Three Stooges short, and at other times it has the kind of rapid fire dialogue usually associated with Preston Sturges or Howard Hawks.45.
