A recent Yahoo question and answers session with Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen revealed that the scene that ostensibly takes place in heaven in the films climax was at one time planned to feature not only the Backstreet Boys, who perform a song and dance number with three of the films leads, but God himself. Who better to play God than the man who has played him twice before in both Bruce Almighty and its quasi-sequel Evan Almighty? Morgan Freeman co-starred with This Is The End co-lead Jay Baruchel in Million Dollar Baby, but opted out of doing so again, believing that God should be played seriously and not for cheap laughs, as the script intended.
