Ah, the esteemed billion dollar mark: when it comes to box office success, this is where every massive studio film wants to end up. To date, however, only 17 movies have crossed the threshold and joined the ranks of the billion dollar elite. James Cameron, of course, is considered to be the modern master of the billion dollar gross: how did one director manage to nab the top two spots with both Titantic and Avatar, both of which grossed over 2 billion? What does Cameron know about movie making and marketing that others directors and producers presumably don't? It's enjoyable to ponder which movies will end up grossing over a billion dollars, of course - at least, it can be if you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time (we rather conveniently don't). Looking back across the span of movies that were announced in 2013, then, we've attempted to surmise which ones will probably end up squeezing themselves between the likes of Transformers: Dark of the Moon and the The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (numbers 6 and 16, respectively). What do you reckon? Will these forthcoming flicks gross over a billion dollars?
