3. The Snappy Pacing

At just 128 minutes in length, this is Michael Bay's shortest movie in almost an entire quarter-century, running just a few minutes longer than 1995's Bad Boys.

And given Bay's frustrating penchant for padding his movies out, sometimes close to three hours, it's refreshing that this tentpole has a more urgent pace that cuts through a lot of the usual bloat.

One might dare say it feels oddly restrained for Bay, and though some might argue that the film moves too fast for its own good, that it gets less hunkered down in the terrible comic relief of the Transformers movies and focuses on the action at least ensures it doesn't waste too much of your time.
