7 Actors Join Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (And Who They Are Playing)
The summer of '69 is shaping up nicely.
The cast for Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood just keeps on getting both bigger and better.
Tarantino's ninth movie already boasts one hell of a cast, with stars Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio joined by Margot Robbie, Burt Reynolds, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Madsen, and Tim Roth.
The movie, which was originally being billed as film about the Manson murders, is shaping up to be a Pulp Fiction-style narrative that takes place in Los Angeles during the summer of 1969 and at the height of hippy Hollywood, with the murders serving as part of the background to the main narrative.
DiCaprio will play Rick Dalton, a former Western TV star, with Pitt playing his stunt double Cliff Booth, as both struggle to work in a Hollywood they no longer recognise. Robbie, meanwhile, will play Sharon Tate, who just so happens to be Rick's next door neighbour. It's shaping up to be another Tarantino pic that blends fact with fiction, and the intriguing new castings (of which there are seven, as revealed by Deadline) go further with that, playing a mix of real-life personas and Tarantino inventions.
7. Emile Hirsch - Jay Sebring
This will mark the Speed Racer star's biggest movie in years, with the actor taking on the role of Jay Sebring in the movie.
Sebring was a Hollywood hairstylist to the stars, whose clients included Steve McQueen, Frank Sinatra, Kirk Douglas, and Jim Morrison, and had a relationship with Sharon Tate in the mid-60s. In 1969, he was one of the four victims of the Manson murders on Cielo Drive.
