7 Amazing True Stories That Deserve To Be Made Into Films

There are hundreds of thousands of real-world stories that are just waiting to be adapted into feature films. Not only big, sweeping biopics of iconic, influential people that are rather commonplace, but also the intriguing true stories mostly unknown to the general public. Bridge Of Spies, for example, was a remarkable story about a good man perhaps mostly forgotten by history, that fully deserved the spotlight it received thanks to Steven Spielberg. There are stories that exist of good, inspiring people that audiences can connect with and respond to, if their stories are told in the right way. In the right hands, suitable drama and pathos can be eked out of a historical (or mythical) event, leading not only to solid entertainment, but also to intriguing insight into human nature. The well from which filmmakers can draw inspiration for real-world stories is as old as the written history of mankind, and the genres for which films can be created from true stories cover it all; from drama to horror to even sci-fi and fantasy (playing fast and loose with certain historical mysteries, of course). It's not a matter of film-makers being drawn to adapting comics or best-selling novels or remaking other films for a lack of inspiration.
