7. Quirrell Tried To Kill Neville In The Philosopher's Stone

Everyone remembers the scene where Neville Longbottom first rode a broom and almost got himself killed. After mounting his broom, Neville accidentally kicked off and began flying all over the courtyard before falling off only to be saved by his robes getting caught.

Now we could easily just put this down to Neville being Neville - he does have that "why's it always me?!" hangdog spirit down, after all. But later on Professor Quirrell reveals that he tried to kill Harry by bewitching his broom during a Quidditch match.

Potter fans already know that Neville could also have been the chosen one as he matched the description in the prophecy, so could it be possible that Quirrell tried to use the same trick to kill Neville earlier in the same book?
