2. Quirinus Quirrell (Ravenclaw)

Despite being a member of Ravenclaw House, Professor Quirrell was a bit of an idiot. During his school years, he was bullied extensively due to his nervous disposition, and as a result, he grew up bitter and resentful of those who had mocked him.

Seeking a change of identity, Quirrell went looking for Voldemort in Albania with the hope of gaining power and credibility. The Dark Lord then merged with Quirrell’s body and went after the Philosopher’s Stone.

Of course, this plan failed thanks to Harry, Ron and Hermione, but Quirrell’s actions could have been disastrous. Had Voldemort managed to obtain the Stone, he would have returned to power three years earlier and may have killed Harry in the process.

Why Quirrell thought that Voldemort would be the solution to his problems is anyone’s guess. If power and recognition was what he was after, he should have pursued a senior job at the Ministry rather than joining forces with the most notoriously dark wizard of all time.
