7. Karl Urban - Skurge

Karl Urban is one of those actors who has been in so many different things, especially in the 'geek' world, that it's actually a little surprising he's taken so long to land a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Star Trek and Dredd actor has now arrived in the MCU though, and he'll be taking on the role of Skurge, an Asgardian warrior. Although he starts out as a villain in the comics, known as The Executioner, and fights with Thor on numerous occasions - pitting his mighty double-bladed battle axe against Mjolnir - he does eventually go on to gain redemption.

Urban has shaved his head and started working out for the role, and said the character will have an interesting journey, so we're likely to see a few different sides to him throughout the movie.
