7 Reasons Men Need To Relax About The New Ghostbusters Movie
2. It’s Good Enough For Bill Murray (And The Rest Of The Original Cast)
Bill Murray, the patron saint of the church of Ghostbusters, is so on board with this film that he is actually appearing in it. This is a huge deal. Murray is the man that epitomises everything great about the original film, and who was so displeased with the second film, that he put the kibosh on ever making another Ghostbusters with the male cast.
In other words, if you really care about the franchise, his opinion on the film matters.
Aside from his influence as a veteran of the originals, Murray is one of the most notoriously picky actors in Hollywood, who only chooses roles he is interested in. And he chose Ghostbusters both out of love for the people involved, and so that he could endorse it in his own way. He has openly stated that he took on a role in the new movie because he ‘really respects those girls’ and believes that they are going to ‘have great success with this project’. He also has had no problem claiming that even though he didn’t want to play his original role this time round, he wanted to be seen, so that people couldn’t use his absence as a way of slamming the film in his name.
Oh and if that’s not enough, Dan Akroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts are all making their way back for the film too. So it appears they’re all pretty cool with the direction this thing has taken…and that original you claim to adore, was their movie to begin with.
