Released in 2012, the film is found footage style and follows a group of teens who stumble upon an underground discovery that leaves them in possession of superhuman powers. Soon after using these for the greater good, the narrative takes a turn for the worst, as the kids fight for control within themselves and each other.

Featuring actors Michael B. Jordan and Dane DeHaan, the movie blends sci-fi and horror with superheroes, fit for a more adult audience at a 12 A age rating for more gruesome scenes in the third act.

There are a multitude of scares and tense moments that leave audiences wanting more after ninety minutes. The action is all filmed on the character's cameras, putting the audience right in with the action itself in a documentary type vision which in turn creates a sense of genuine risk within the more shocking unpredictable moments.

Fans of superheroes and horror should definitely watch this movie immediately to envision the consequences of what having superpowers could have in a close to real world situation.
