8 Actors Who Hated Working On Batman Movies

8. Christian Bale - The Dark Knight Series

For many, Christian Bale's portrayal of everyone's favourite Dark Knight set the new benchmark during Christopher Nolan's groundbreaking trilogy of Batman films.

However, not everyone shares that same opinion. In fact, the actor himself has revealed in recent times that he regrets not being able to realise the initial vision he had of the "very, very dark, messed up character."

Noting that Heath Ledger's iconic portrayal of The Joker pretty much killed off any hopes he had of bringing Batman's true 'monstrous self' to the big screen, Bale said:

“Heath turned up, and just kind of completely ruined all my plans, because I went, ‘He’s so much more interesting than me and what I’m doing.’”

Even though Bale doesn't exactly feel as though he "nailed it'" when it comes to his version of the Caped Crusader, many fans would happily claim the opposite.

On top of not feeling as though he fully brought his vision of the Bat to life, Bale also wasn't the biggest fan of the character's costume. He once referred to the batsuit as "hot, dark and sweaty" and also revealed that "it gives (him) a headache."

With the Brit now rumoured to be returning as Batman in the upcoming DCEU Flash movie, could this finally be his chance to produce the sort of performance he was aiming for in the Dark Knight series? Let's just hope his new suit comes equipped with AC and a bat-zipper.
