Alexandra Daddario is a talented actress - her brief stint on HBO's True Detective being sure proof of that - but almost her entire movie career has seen her pigeonholed as the hot girl, especially in her recent critical flops Baywatch and the appallingly bad The Layover (which scored 0% on Rotten Tomatoes).
Hell, even her single appearance in an acclaimed movie - Noah Baumbach's brilliant 2005 drama The Squid and the Whale - sees her credited as "Pretty Girl", focused almost entirely on her making sexy-eyes at Jesse Eisenberg and not remotely on her acting talent.
Perhaps A-list directors worry that her striking looks are too distracting for a lot of prestige-type roles, but seriously, her tawdry film career belies the fact she actually has solid acting chops.
