How do you take someone who is widely regarded as being one of the most beautiful people to ever live, and change them so they can play a hideous real-life serial killer? Monster showed how, and did a frighteningly good job of it. Nearly everyone hailed Theron's role as one of the single finest pieces of acting in history, and it certainly benefited from her convincing appearance.

Tragically, her personal makeup assistant Tony G received no major awards nominations for his work, but at least he has the consolation of having been mentioned by name in a WhatCulture article. That's just as good as an award, right?
