Big Daddy's death scene is a two-for-the-price-of-one deal. Not only do you get the painfully emotional scenes of Big Daddy literally burning alive, but it's paired with Hit Girl kicking ass and taking names in an extremely stylistic sequence thanks to the POV and strobing effects from director Matthew Vaughan. His training of daughter Mindy to take on the good fight against the mobsters responsible for his wife's death arguably lead to this moment, as up to that point it's her biggest fight with the biggest stakes on the line - saving her father, who's been trussed up by Frank D'Amico's men, along with Kick-Ass. As she bounces around in the dark, Big Daddy shouts helpful codewords for methods of attack, still training her in the heat (sorry) of his death. The score that accompanies the scene from composer John Murphy adds to the emotionality of what we're seeing on screen, and once all the goons are defeated we're left with a heartbreaking final exchange of words between Big Daddy and his little girl. "Sleep tight daddy". Sob.
