8 Biggest Casting Mistakes In 2016's Superhero Movies

The DC Extended Universe is kicking off with a lot of bad casting choices, that's for sure.

2016 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for superhero movies, but as both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Extended Universe grow, more actors and characters are inevitably added to those worlds. That would normally be no bad thing, but if next year's comic book adaptations stand out for one particular reason, it's the amount of ill advised and controversial casting decisions which have been made. Marvel, Fox, and Warner Bros. have certainly picked a lot of great acting talent for their respective releases (Benedict Cumberbatch, Oscar Isaac, and Ben Affleck for example), but there's a worrying number of misfires, some of which could end up completely ruining the movies the actors singled out here have leading roles in. Some don't match their comic book counterparts in a satisfying manner, while others are poor choices for less obvious reasons like their inability to bring in paying moviegoers. Regardless of the reasons though, all of those listed here represent some major casting blunders on the part of the studios, and if any of these end up actually working out next year, it's going to be a genuine surprise...
