Has anyone truly had a better movie year than Whedon ever? He started the year with the genre-bending, new cult-classic The Cabin in the Woods (shelved since 2009) that opened to critical and audience acclaim. Then, he managed to shuffle out the third biggest movie of all time (only his second full-length feature behind Serenity) with The Avengers. Then, he peddled out his passion project of Much Ado Without Nothing to film festivals as his fans continued to collect their drool. Finally, he was issued a godfathering position over all the Phase II Marvel films with producer and master-mind Kevin Feige, all the while getting to return to his show-running position for a new Marvel TV show on a channel that isn't out for his blood. The movie gods have been kind to Joss Whedon, and he certainly doesn't seem to have any plans to slow down in the near future. If anything, his return to Comic Con will issue a brand new wave of fan-sacrifice to his name.
