8 DC Comic-Con Details You Probably Missed
It's a bird... it's a plane... it's San Diego Comic-Con!
The 2019 edition of San Diego Comic-Con is now in the books, and it was - as ever - a monumental few days for the geek community.
As is so often the case with SDCC, Marvel Studios stole the show by dropping a bunch of huge announcements, such as Mahershala Ali being cast as Blade, Natalie Portman's Jane Forster becoming Thor, the MCU's Phase Four line-up, the Fantastic Four on their way, and so, so much more.
Now, while Marvel Studios may have grabbed the spotlight, many casual fans may have overlooked the plentiful DC Comics-driven announcements and reveals that came about during Comic-Con. Seriously, there were some ridiculously cool DC things revealed at SDCC, and many of those many have slipped under your radar unless you were purposely making a point of keeping track on all things DC Entertainment.
Here, we've compiled a feature based around some of those very DC announcements that you may have missed. From shocking casting details, to new movies, to a whole lot more - San Diego Comic-Con delivered the goods on so many levels for long-time fans of DC Comics.
8. Holy Crossover Cameo, Batman!
In one of the most grin-inducing moments of SDCC for long-standing DC fans, we found out that Burt Ward will be making an appearance in the Arrowverse’s multi-episode, multi-show Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event towards the end of the year.
Of course, Ward is best known for playing Robin opposite Adam West’s Batman in the ‘60s Batman TV show. In more recent years, the actor has lent his dulcet tones to the animated Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders and Batman vs. Two-Face movies.
While Burt Ward making a cameo appearance in Crisis on Infinite Earths is all kinds of cool, it was not revealed whether or not Burt will be turning up as an older version of the Boy Wonder role he so famously played.
