6. Depending On The Weather

Because of the constantly moving cameras going in circles around the actors, the 1917 crew couldn't use any lights behind the lens. Their only option was to be patient and wait for the perfect weather and the right light for the scene.

They brought in meteorologists and other weather experts to the set so they could be ready for the light and weather they needed, which, in a gloomy and gritty World War 1 movie, is cloudy.

But when shooting the ending scene they had to wait around for the clouds to disappear and the sun to come around.
