8 Films With Bad-Ass Final Scenes

6. The Silence of the Lambs

As new iterations of the famous Hannibal enjoy varying degrees of success, it€™s sometimes easy to forget just how extraordinary this adaptation is. Anthony Hopkins has made the role of Hannibal Lectre an extremely difficult one to follow, and it€™s in this film that he really cuts his teeth, pardon the pun. He€™s disturbing, vile and downright loathsome, but there€™s also this unexplainable desire to like him. It€™s this side of Hopkins' role that makes the final scene so enjoyable. While on the phone to FBI agent Clarice, Hannibal says €œdo wish we could chat longer, but... I'm having an old friend for dinner. Bye€. As uneasy as this line makes us feel, there€™s also his little side of us all that enjoys hearing this sadistic double meaning to close out the film.
