Wes Andersons 4th theatrical release is considered a polarizing entry in the directors career. Fans of the film maker tend to either list it as their favourite or least favourite of his work, and therefore its strengths sometimes get lost in the shuffle. The film is beautifully paced, with the same well defined, eccentric characters you come to expect from an Anderson film. With some fantastic performances from the likes of Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe, the final scene might just deliver the most memorable few moments of any Anderson film. We get a near super hero esc finish, with each character joining Steve (Murray) walking down the peer towards his ship in a triumphant F-U to lifes bleakest moments. The team march with a defiance and positivity that cant help but put a smile on your face, as we hear David Bowies Queen Bitch close out what may be one of the most uplifting final scenes in decades.
