Someone isn't making it out of Captain America: Civil War alive. One of the many scenes which flashed across the screen in the preview shown at D23 featured a funeral, and as you might imagine, speculation has been running rampant ever since about who kicks the bucket. In the Civil War comic book, the Superhuman Registration Act was put in place after hundreds of innocents were killed in a battle between the New Warriors and a team of villains. It's thought that a mistake made by Captain America's New Avengers will be what kicks things off in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it's certainly possible that one of them could fall in battle. Black Goliath was one of the major casualties in the source material, and while he won't be appearing here, Ant-Man will. Surely Marvel wouldn't take him out so soon?! Speculation aside, and one recent rumour may shed some light on who this funeral is for. That would be T'Chaka, the father of T'Challa (a.k.a. Black Panther). In the comics, he's assassinated by Ulysses Klaw while representing Wakanda at a UN meeting, so something similar happening in this movie would make sense. It would also give T'Challa a good excuse for taking over his father's mantle and getting involved in this heated conflict between Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
