Nothing about this 2007 Clive Owen action flick is subtle: i's a live-action cartoon without any of the subtext, just a guns blazing, winking homage to violent excess. And if there's anything The Wolf Of Wall Street taught us, it's that you can't show excess without showing a whole lot of sex. To prove just how subtle Shoot 'Em Up is not, Clive Owen engages in a lengthy shootout mid-coitus, without so much as pulling out his, um, "gun" from his special lady's "holster." (Code words are fun!) What's most impressive about this gunfight is just how accurate Owen is able to be with his shots, all the while keeping his partner satisfied.
