8. John Wick: Chapter 3

After the breakout success of the first John Wick and the positive reception to its sequel, a third instalment in the action franchise was quickly announced.

Set to open in May 2019, Chapter 3 will be penned by Derek Kolstad - who wrote the first two movies - and is expected to be directed by Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the first and took the lead on the second.

The fact that two major creative players are returning can only be a good thing. John Wick isn't known for its deep, thought-provoking stories, but it is known for its impressive action sequences, which both these men had a hand in outlining and fully-realising on the big screen.

Other than that, little is known about John Wick 3 (besides the obvious assumption that Keanu Reeves will star), but the fact that it's moved from Chapter 2's February release slot to a more prime early summer date indicates that it will receive a bigger budget, something it will need in order to provide all the crowd-pleasing explosions and kills that summer audiences expect.

In short, this will be the biggest entry in the franchise yet.
