Pixar and Disney have both been accused of ripping other movies and books off a fair few times, but one of the most egregious comes in the shape of the wonderful Monsters Inc. The delightful tale of two monsters blurring the boundary with the real people world is so close to cult 80s movie Little Monsters that it almost defies belief.
In it, Fred Savage's kid meets a blue monster with purple spots and goat-like horns when he crosses into his world through the portal under Savage's bed. That relationship inspires the monster to question whether scaring kids is really the right thing to be doing...
Sounds familiar doesn't it? That's because Monsters Inc seems to liberally borrow themes, story details and ACTUAL character designs from it.
