8 People You Won't Believe Won Razzie Awards

2. Ronald McDonald

Jennifer Aniston made her film debut as an extra in Mac And Me (1988), an ET rip-off about about a handicapped boy who befriends an alien called MAC (short for €œMysterious Alien Creature€). Ronald McDonald also appears (as €œHimself€) during a party scene set in a McDonald€™s, which is little more than a shameless plug for the company.

The Razzies weren€™t fooled by this bit of self-promotion and at their 9th annual ceremony, they nominated the picture in 4 categories, from which it €œwon€ Worst Director for Stewart Raffill (tied with Blake Edwards for Sunset) and Worst New Star for Ronald McDonald. The film has a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which calls the picture a €œthinly-veiled feature length commercial for McDonald€™s and Coca-Cola.€

Small world dept: the actor who plays Ronald, Squire Fridell, later played the Sheriff in John Carpenter€™s Village Of The Damned €“ a movie about a group of abnormal children. No conclusions here, just some food for thought.
