8 Problems With Upcoming Movies (That Have Already Been Solved)

2. Transformers 6

The Problem: The Michael Bay films were terrible, and Transformers 6 was set to continue on that same path.

The Solution: Bay is out as director and the script won't follow his films.

Michael Bay's Transformers films made a heck of a lot of money, and that's the sole reason why Paramount continued to churn them out. Critics - and a good majority of the audience - seemed to hate them, but general moviegoers kept going to see them again and again, and that kept the franchise's lights on.

It was assumed that the most recent mainline instalment - The Last Knight - would also be a box-office hit, which would have led to another sequel, and another, and another, continuing Paramount's gravy train of bad movies. It was hard to be excited about that fact, and even though Bay had signalled he would no longer be onboard as director, the tone, story beats, and general style he established in his five terrible efforts would have been continued.

But thankfully, The Last Knight was a box-office disappointment, and this - combined with the success of Bumblebee - has clearly made Paramount rethink the future of the series, because according to producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Transformers 6 won't continue Bay's series at all. When asked if the next Transformers film would pick up where The Last Knight left off, he responded with a simple "no."

Hopefully, Bumblebee's more character-driven story will inspire the team behind Transformers 6, and with Bay's influence mostly gone, the film has a chance of being the best in the franchise to date.
