8 Scenes We Definitely Won't See In James Wan's Aquaman
2. Jimmy Olsen Fills In For Aquaman
When Superman made a vague reference to Aquaman being needed on "some distant watery world" the writers couldn't be bothered to think up a name for, he charged his friend Jimmy Olsen with the task of watching over the world's seas - presumably he was the only one available at the time.
A magical helmet bestowed Atlantean powers upon the Daily Planet photographer and he was ready to talk with the fishes. When he learned that the job description included battling huge sea monsters, Jimmy's enthusiasm for the role faded and he welcomed Arthur Curry back with open arms at the end of the issue.
Ignoring how daft this little exercise in novelty storytelling was, there's no chance of it happening in Aquaman movie since the DC movie universe's version of Jimmy Olsen died during the events of Batman v Superman.
