8 Terrifying Horror Comics That Should Be Made Into Movies

8. Hack/Slash

Named after the hero and villain(s) of the series, Hack/Slash follows heroine Cassie Hack as she fights against monsters, known in their universe as 'slashers'. Written by Tim Seeley, Cassie Hack's character is intended to be the natural evolution of the 'final girl' trope: a once-victim that has overcome her fears and decided to fight back.

Written as a series of one shots (standalone issues that do not necessarily build on overarching plots), one would be justified in thinking that Hack/Slash would be better suited as a TV show. After discussions of a TV series by writers and directors sporadically throughout the 2010s, however, Hack/Slash seems to have found its way into development hell. All being said, an expansive film universe could prove more fruitful than it may seem.

On top of the multitude of original villains in the series, Hack/Slash is also prone to a crossover, with features such as Lovecraft's Re-Animator, the iconic Vampirella, and even Chucky of Child's Play, there is the capacity for a superhero-esque series. Just think of some of Batman's adversaries: Joker, The Penguin, The Riddler, Harley Quinn, Harvey Dent. Cassie Hack would make for an extremely strong lead, with her edgier style filling the void left behind by the unfortunately cancelled Jessica Jones.
