8 Things Everybody Missed In The Batman V Superman Trailer

6. The Superman Insignia Guard

There's a lot of treating Superman like a deity in the trailer for Batman V Superman; if it's not skull-faced crazies reaching out to touch him or a statue designed to make him look mighty and invincible, then it's armed guards dressed all in black kneeling down before him.

Well, not all in black - the crouching figures seen in shot number six have allowed for some colour. Despite being decked head to toe in dark material and wearing helmets that look surprisingly similar to the ones soldiers serving in Nazi Germany wore, the troops in this shot bear the Superman red 'hope' sign on their outfits, just above the shoulder.

The suggestion could be that these troopers are Superman's own personal army, or that they're obsessives wanting to serve this 'god' - either way, the guards' right-wing connotations seem counter to what Supes stands for, or at least stood for, in Man Of Steel. Whatever the truth, it's another indication that there's some kind of cult-ish behaviour going on regarding people's treatment of Superman in the Man Of Steel sequel.
