Robb may have met a grisly end but Madden doesn't seem to be going anywhere, anytime soon. Although he maintains that he can still take the tube relatively incognito - albeit while making a cameo appearance on the blog Men Taking Up Too Much Space On The Train - that might not be the case for long. Having played the iconic Prince Charming in the recent highly anticipated live action version of Cinderella, and with several upcoming roles lined up, his days of moving the streets unnoticed may be coming to an end sooner than he thinks.

Taking a look back through Madden's filmography will give you a sense that the Scottish actor has seemingly always possessed the confidence and ability to tackle immensely challenging roles, even as a child. His resume is teeming with variety. Quirky roles are scattered throughout and peppered with some sincere period pieces. He seems to have a knack for successfully transforming into almost any character that's thrown his way.

This dashing actor is slowly becoming a household name, but how much do you really know about this charming Scot? Take a peek through this list of tidbits and find out.

8. He Got Into Acting To Combat Crippling Shyness

Richard was actually an extremely shy child. He had trouble socializing but luckily recognized this and was able to remedy the problem at a rather young age. He describes his childhood self as "a nervous kid, not great socially". He started to fear going to high school and wanted to find a method of procuring some much needed confidence. Fortunately, a childhood friend set him on the path to acting which seemed to help his social anxiety melt away.

"My best friend was really cool, and she went to a youth theatre in Paisley, so I thought, maybe that’s the way to do it. I went along, and I immediately found something I was passionate about and really enjoyed."

Entering the theatre group at only age 11, Richard quickly flourished and was soon scouted for his first film role the same year, a film adaptation of Iain Banks' novel, Complicity.
