What an awesome title. In the comic books, Batman has frequently been referred to as THE Batman, and we actually got a taste of that in the Batman V Superman trailer when Clark Kent called him "The Bat Vigilante". You may not think that adding "The" is that big of a deal, but this is a great way of paying homage to the source material and a solid choice of title after Tim Burton obviously nabbed Batman back in 1989. A lot may obviously change over the next few years (especially as Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce the movie), but what started out as a rumoured title is now being talked about by the trades, so chances are that the decision to name this movie The Batman has already been made. The obvious question is how they'll then go about titling the sequels - The Batman 2? - but for now, this is a great move. It's also an appropriate one. Everything we've seen of Ben Affleck's Batman points to his take on the Caped Crusader being the one fans have been dreaming of seeing for years. All of the previous actors to don the cape and cowl certainly had their plus points, but this really does seem to be the most comic book faithful version yet, something which should quickly establish Affleck as THE Batman, ensuring he lives up to that title.
