8 Unloved Movies From 2015 That Deserve A Higher Score On Rotten Tomatoes

Some of them might be bad. But none of them are THAT bad.

It's easy to hate movies. It just is. Cynicism is easy maintain, especially when we expect too much from these little chunks of entertainment. It's part of our elusive search for "the perfect film," which, despite what those movies rated 100% on RottenTomatoes might suggest, doesn't actually exist. While we're on the subject of RottenTomatoes, let's talk about how much faith we've put into this review aggregator in recent years. The idea of the site (along with similarly data-driven Metacritic) makes sense in the same way that statistical analysis makes sense in sports: it's a useful tool, but it can't entirely replace individual knowledge and gut feelings. We shouldn't become slaves to the Tomatometer when deciding on which movies are worth our time. That's a fast-track to losing the notion of cult classics altogether. Think about it, if everyone had paid as much attention to these rankings back when Donnie Darko was released, there's a good chance Jake Gyllenhaal would be out of a job today. So, although it's easier than ever to pan a movie before you even sit down to watch a minute of it, t's imperative that we don't get too caught up in the statistics. Obviously, RottenTomatoes can still be helpful in slogging through the hundreds of movies being pumped out of Hollywood each season, but we should dig a little deeper than the percentage on the front page. With that said, allow me to adjust some of the craziest scores given to 2015's Hollywood releases, because just like you do with RottenTomatoes, I'm positive that some of you will still only pay attention to the number attached to the title.
