Though it might have been a James Cameron-directed box-office behemoth in the world of Entourage, I strongly suspect that an Aquaman film in this reality would not go down well. We need only look as far as Smallville to see how goofy the character can be, and I suspect that giving him his own film would only exacerbate this. A water-based superhero certainly has its limitations, if only because his super-powers simply aren't very interesting when compared to the likes of Superman, nor is his back-story anywhere near as engrossing as Batman's. The project has been festering around for almost a decade, and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way production company has been the most recent one attempting to take a crack at it. Though the project could materialise if the Justice League movie - which itself might never get made - is a success, I can only hope that this one never makes it to the big screen.
