5. Hugo Strange

Hugo Strange fits Arkham Asylum like a glove. Like so many characters, his origins have been retconned and modified over the years to fit more modern times yet one constant remains - he is a psychologist fascinated with The Batman and his rogues gallery, even going as far as to impersonate Batman in order to figure out the Dark Knights methods.

Very much a master schemer, Strange's latest origin story sees him as the resident super villain psychologist of Arkham Asylum. Far from being a trust worthy confidant, Strange instead experiments on the villains both mentally and physically for his own benefit. He eventually deduces that Bruce Wayne is in fact Batman. A formidable foe indeed.

The Arkham movie could provide fertile breeding ground for a Hugo Strange origin story, setting up his ongoing and cerebral rivalry with Affleck's Batman. Strange is formidable without even lifting a finger. How does Batman defeat that?
