Man Of Steel had a lot of already well publicised issues, and it's to Batman V Superman's credit that it's not only going to tackle those complaints head on, but make them a pivotal part of the story. Using this as a basis for the fight between the two heroes is smart, especially as it's going to make the movie feel like a natural progression to what's come before rather than a Man Of Steel sequel with Batman thrown in. The most exciting aspect of this is the fact that we'll be seeing Superman's battle with General Zod from an entirely new perspective as Bruce Wayne watches on in horror as Metropolis is destroyed. This offers a human point of view that Man Of Steel was sorely missing - everyone on the ground in that movie was far too close to the action for the audience to appreciate the true scale of what was happening. Dealing with the events of Man Of Steel puts Batman V Superman on par with Captain America: Civil War as both of them are going to deal with a disaster that took place in another movie. That's what makes all the talk of Dawn Of Justice being little more than Man Of Steel 2 plus Batman so frustrating. Is Civil War a tacked on epilogue to Age of Ultron? Of course not, and seeing the ramifications play out here should be great.
