9 Action Movie Costumes That Make No Sense

3. Sean Connery in Zardoz

Zardoz is the weird and eccentric sci-fi action film from the 70s, starring the late great Sean Connery. A dystopian world ruled by the godlike Eternals, it follows a regular man, Zed, challenging their power and overthrowing the society they live in. The story is strange but the most confusing part is the costumes, specifically Sean Connery's Zed.

Wearing a skimpy red leather speedo, bandoliers, thigh high boots and a braided ponytail, it was definitely one of the James Bond actors most unique roles. That said, with guns blazing, a hero in the middle of the action would prefer some better coverage and protection.

Zardoz was a strange film at the box office and was not well received with the critics. Many complained about the outlandish costume design. In many dystopian movies, strange costumes are a staple of the genre however Zardoz just didn't hit the mark and went too far with outfits that didn't fit the story.
