Far and away, one of last year's highlights was that of the home-invasion masterpiece You're Next. Clever, creative and bloody to boot, Adam Wingard's slasher had more on its mind than just slicing and dicing hapless twitsit had Sharni Vinson; a final-girl to end all final-girls. As each animal-masked killer fell to her demented inventiveness, it all ultimately led to a final fight within a kitchen the size of a closet. Battling both the mastermind Felix and master-perve Zee, Sharni's Erin improvised the best way she knew how...with kitchen appliances. Pots of water are thrown, skulls are split with butcher knives and before you know it, even a blender gets put to good, sloshy use.
