In a way, youve got to feel sorry for the American Pie boys not only will their careers ever hit the heights they reached with this franchise, but they were pretty much upstaged in their best film too. With the possible exception of Sean William Scotts Stifler, nearly all the Tall Oaks gang paled into insignificance compared to original MILF Jennifer Coolidge, otherwise known as Stiflers Mom. It cannot be understated just how much of an impact this woman had. Popularising the cougar fad before it had even properly started, Jennifer Coolidge reeked of older-woman sex appeal from when we first saw her, and she probably proved the most memorable part of the movie. Yes, it was all well and good watching the gang finally lose their V-plates, but nothing compares to Finch and the mom going at it on the pool table. What makes this all the more impressive is that Stiflers mom is barely on screen at all. She only really appears in the flesh at the very end, yet she makes such an indelible impression that she provides the biggest laugh in the film and popularised the meaning of Mrs. Robinson to a whole new generation of moviegoers. After all, theres a reason why she kept turning up in the canonical sequels, and why MILF now features in the Oxford English Dictionary.
