9. Zac Efron Ducks High School Musical Reunion

When it came to this year's unexpected High School Musical reunion (via Zoom) fans of the series simply couldn't wait to see the gang "all in this together" once again.

Yet those dreams of seeing the entire cast all singing along together were soon crushed early on when easily the biggest name attached to the franchise was restricted to just a quick, blurry introduction clip.

Zac Efron (or Troy Bolton to HSM hardcores) didn't sing a single note in this reuniting of the cast, which boasted names like Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu and Lucas Grabeel. Why? Well, according to his co-star Monique Coleman, Efron was in the midst of recording his show Killing Zac Efron in Papua New Guinea, so was likely suffering from an awful WiFi connection that would've made singing along with the rest of the gang quite tough.

Still, some fans clearly felt cheated by Efron's brief appearance, with a number voicing their outrage on Twitter in the aftermath.

Efron famously didn't sing during the first HSM (Drew Seeley's voice was used instead), but later did hold a tune in both of the sequels.

Will we ever see Efron get his head back in the HSM game? Maybe next year...
