3. Charles Xavier Will Appear In New Mutants

X-Men producer Simon Kinberg previously stated that the upcoming New Mutants movie will feature appearances from a number of name X-Men characters, and we now know that one of them will be Professor Charles Xavier.

The movie's writer-director Josh Boone said of the movie this past week, "Right now, as the movie exists, Professor X would be a part of a New Mutants movie."

We can assume this probably refers to James McAvoy's Xavier rather than Patrick Stewart's, but either way, he will obviously serve as a mentor to the young mutants.

It's also been rumoured that the film will take place in the 1990s, so we can probably expect McAvoy to be aged-up for the part, considering that Patrick Stewart was 60 years old when the original X-Men movie came out in 2000.
