9 Movies To Watch After You See Jordan Peele's Us
9. Sisters (1973)
Long before she was Superman's girlfriend, Margot Kidder was Danielle Breton. She was also Dominique Blanchion. 1973's Sisters follows a journalist who sees her next door neighbor, Danielle, murder someone in cold blood.
Upon further investigation, said journalist learned that it wasn't Danielle, but her twin sister Dominique; the two had been separated after being conjoined at birth. Except, upon even further investigation, it was discovered that Dominique died on the operating table. This whole time, Danielle had been killing people under a warped split personality of her dead sister.
Us ends on a similar note with the sudden revelation that Adelaide had actually been Red this whole time. Apart from hitting those similar beats in story, both succeed splendidly as a slash 'n' dash horror slasher and a suspense thriller. Following in the footsteps of Sisters director Brian De Palma, Jordan Peele is slowly becoming a Master of Suspense behind the camera in his own right.
