In Superman II, Clark depowers himself and becomes, for all intents and purposes, human. Naturally straight afterwards, when visiting a backstreet Alaskan diner (what is it with this movie and inexplicably weird locations?), he immediately realises this was a terrible idea (well, duh), getting his ass handed to him by a violent trucker named Rocky. Clearly the vengeful type, Supes turns back up at the end and humiliates his former tormenter, spinning him round on a stool and sitting him down in his pie. He's been working out. It's a strange little subplot, but just about works, at least to the point that Zack Snyder gave it a modern update in Man Of Steel - while in self-imposed exile, Clark winds up in a dive bar where he gallantly tries to help a waitress being abused by her drive-in customers. Push comes to shove, and in retaliation the future Superman impales the guy's truck with his own lumber. Nice guy. This is definitely a more overt homage than some of the other examples on this list, with the movie's really keen to make Superman's disdain for long-haul trucker's a thing.
