9 Teen Horror Movies That Are Actually Quite Scary

2. Polaroid

In this 2019 horror Polaroid, teen loner Bird (bringing yet another weird name) finds an old polaroid camera, and soon realises that who ever gets their picture taken meets their own tragic death. The concept was originally based on a short film in 2015 of the same name.

Within the narrative, the horror clichés are taken to the max, with a selection of high school stereotypes that all must figure out the mystery behind the spirit's origins before it's too late and they all die.

The scares come in the later parts of the narrative itself, moving in to the end of the second and start of the third act, as the friends begin to be killed off one by one. There is little to no blood and gore compared to other films in this list, with the concept taking a large inspiration from the Final Destination franchise.

It's nothing unique, but is engaging enough to watch all the way through, with some big jump scares and a not so disappointing CG monster that is hidden away until the end.
