4. Long Shot = Pretty Woman

Lionsgate & Buena Vista

Long Shot stars Seth Rogen as uncouth, unemployed journalist Fred Flarsky, who crosses paths once again with his childhood crush, Charlotte Field (Charlize Theron), who is now the U.S. Secretary of State.

The entire premise is centred on the odd couple pairing at the forefront, with Theron's refined, perfectly preened politico being many leagues away from Rogen's unkempt everyman. But of course, opposites attract, and a fondness between them grows over the course of the movie.

Reviews have even gone so far as to call Long Shot a "reverse Pretty Woman", by effectively gender-flipping the roles from the 1990 rom-com classic, where Richard Gere played a high-powered businessman and Julia Roberts a rough-around-the-edges prostitute who eventually fall in love.

Hell, given that Long Shot kits Flarsky and Field out in similar evening wear in one sequence and even has them dance to the Pretty Woman soundtrack in another, it's clear that the glaring similarities are no accident.
