Subjective? In true John McClane stubbornness ... no! Some people certainly have their hang-ups about the 4.0th instalment in the franchise, considering McClane took on more of the €˜True Lies€™ spy-isms than the gritty beat cop of earlier movies and they€™d be well within their rights to do so; and well-expected to do so with a line like €˜007 of Plainfield New Jersey€™ making the trailer. Ultimately, with Die Hard, €˜expected€™ or €˜predictable€™ has become an art-form. There€™s a Die Hard €˜Stock€™ that causes mild diarrhea symptoms in theatres around the world if it€™s not adhered to. So €˜adhered to€™ it shall be. We know that he€™ll say yippee-khy €“eh, we know he€™ll make a lot of loud, pained grunts and we know for certain that there€™ll be plenty of €˜American humble pie€™ for which John McClane has been lauded in the past. Add to these, the newer additions of ladies of €˜Bond-girl€™ hotness, or thereabouts, and what you have is the makings of the Die Hard €˜sticky-fly-paper€™ Stock which fans can€™t help but fall for.
