A Good Day to Die Hard: 5 Reasons To Be Excited!

2. Not a Comic Book Hero

Not that there€™s anything wrong with comic book heroes, per se. They€™re making millions at the box office and allowing comic books to gain the widespread recognition they deserve; all to the eye-twitching neurosis of pedantic fanboys and their hatred of €˜mainstream€™ entertainment. All great stuff but there€™s a reason why John McClane became a cultural icon: he showed that being lucky can be just as useful as being rich or mutated. He never had any super powers, he wasn€™t even all that smart but he was stubborn and witty which meant that the average bloke could relate. On the back of the Avengers and countless re-hashings of the €˜Sherlock Holmes€™ mould, having a playful brute tear up the place with countless weaponry he (surely) isn€™t qualified to use, will be a breath of fresh air to begin 2013.
