17. The Colonists Hanging From Glorified Clothing Racks
Probably one of the movie's weirdest and most unintentionally hilarious creative calls was to have the Covenant's colonists and crew suspended in cryo-pods that appeared to hang on freaking clothing racks.
Given the obvious risk involved with treating human beings like the suit you just got dry-cleaned, while traveling into the far reaches of space where there's likely to be turbulence no less, it should be surprising to roughly nobody that when the Covenant encountered the fateful neutrino burst, it caused a number of the pods to fall off these perilous racks, presumably resulting in some of the colonist deaths that take place.
Even ignoring the basic health and safety aspect, from a production design perspective it just looks bizarre and goofy.
