The Amazing Spider-Man Villains: 5 Simple Steps To Adapting Mysterio

By Dean Beirne /

One of Spider-Man's most interesting and underrated foes, Quentin Beck, (aka Mysterio) has caused trouble for the web-head time and time again. Whether it be in comics, TV shows or actually being the main antagonist in various Spider-Man video games, he is a character that has littered many mediums. Known for his magic tricks, illusions, theatricality and his most infamous feature €“ the notorious 'fishbowl' shaped helmet €“ Mysterio has become a fan favourite among Marvel fans. The question is, why hasn't he been in a movie yet? Is he not well known enough as other villains? Neither was Electro or Rhino, and they are going to fight the wall crawler next year with The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Is it because he looks stupid? Well, adapt him so he doesn't. With Sony's new move to possibly introduce The Sinister Six into the Spider-Man Cinematic Universe, I definitely believe that Mysterio should be included as part of the team. But first, he deserves to have a movie where we can build on his origin to make him a fully fledged character, so here is how I think the character should be adapted to be both realistic and still keeping his comic book origins intact.
